Fundamentals of Lighting 2017

 

 

 

 


Long Island IES is pleased to, once again, offer a Fundamentals of Lighting training course.  This 10-hour instructional program (spread out over four evenings in late February and into March) is designed to give anyone who works in the lighting and energy fields the practical knowledge to function in today’s evolving lighting environment. Architects, engineers, salespeople, project managers, construction professionals, maintenance personnel, and energy managers can all benefit from the course material.  Architects, engineers and specifiers should note that this course qualifies for 10 learning units.

Dates and Times:  (Attending all four components is required to complete the course)

  • Part 1: February 27th, 6 to 8:30 PM (Monday)
  • Part 2: March 6th, 6 to 8:30 PM (Monday)
  • Part 3: March 13rd, 6 to 8:30 PM (Monday)
  • Part 4: March 16th, 6 to 8:30 PM (Thursday)

Location:
Leviton Facility

 Course Curriculum:

History of Light, Defining Light, Vision, Color, Light Sources and Ballasts, Luminaires and Controls, Photometry, Lighting Calculations. Each evening, a light snack/dinner will be provided.

Costs:
The cost for the training course is broken into two components -- course materials and classroom training


Course Materials
Each trainee must purchase the course training program directly from the IES by navigating to the IES website [Click Here].  Once purchased, the course materials will be downloaded directly to your computer.  Please note that the course materials are encrypted to a single computer and are password protected.  The cost is $60 for IES members and $85 for non-IES members. A credit card will be required.
