9/11A NYC Lighting Community Event, jointly Sponsored by Illuminating Engineering Society of New YC (IESNYC), Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY), and IES Long Island (IESLI).

On Tuesday April 9, from 5 pm to 8 pm, join us for a lecture and tour of the September 11 Memorial. Lecture will start at 5:30 off site at the 3LD Art & Technology Center prior to walking the WTC Memorial. WTC memorial entry starts 6:30. Note the memorial closes at 8pm.

Paul Marantz of Fisher Marantz Stone and Ron Schimmelpfenning of Winona Lighting discuss the lighting design for the World Trade Center memorial site as well as the development of the linear submersible fixtures installed in the site's reflecting pools. Attendees will be able to hear this lecture before visiting the site and seeing as it transitions from day to evening.

Schedule: 

5:00pm - 5:30pm  Meet at 3LD Art & Technology Center 

5:30pm - 6:30pm  Program Lecture 

6:30pm - 8:00pm  WTC Memorial Tour

 

Fee:

IESNYC, DLFNY and IESLI members, and Students Free

$20 for non-members

- Pre-Registration is Required and closes March 25th

 

- Attendance is limited so register early. If you are member of more than one of these organizations only register with one group.

- Due to security protocol, walk-ins will not be allowed. ID will be required and bags are subject to search. Bags over 8"x17"x19" not allowed, bag storage is not available.

You will need to show a hard copy or show the confirmation on your phone to be allowed in.
